Ecuador, is a small country of South America that  represents 0.2% of the world area, in spite of it, Ecuador is the richest country of the world with a great diversity of natural and cultural atmospheres that they favor to the echo-tourist activity and they offer a diversity of natural atmospheres.

POPULATION: approximately 13,5 million .
CLIMATE: Ecuador is located in the Tropical Zone. The climate throughout the country ranges from tropical equatorial rain in the Amazon to perpetual snow on the top of the mountains. Cities in the highlands have temperatures that vary from 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit, while coastal cities’ temperatures vary from 60 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. The wather in the jungle is constant: rainy, humid and warm. The Galapagos Islands are always sunny and warm, however, temperature drops a bit during the months of June to November.

LANGUAGE: Spanish. Most of the indigenous population speaks Quichua. In many schools English is the second language taught as the second language. There are 18 different languages among Ecuadorian communities.
RELIGION: 95% Catholics
CURRENCY: US. Dollars. The government  produce a series of local coins of 1,5,10,25 and 50 cents that have the same value as the American coins (which are also accepted).
Banks open from 9h00 to 17h00 and on Saturdays only half day. Money exchange offered every day in main hotels.
GOVERNMENT: Democratic. Current President is Rafael Correa.


WHAT TO WEAR:
In Quito and highlands: wear spring attire during June, July and August. During the rest of the months, bring warmer clothing like those you would wear during the fall. A raincoat or jacket would be useful at night since it gets pretty chilly.

Guayaquil and other coastal cities: wear summer clothing all year round. During the rainy months, December to May, the weather is still very warm. During the months of June to November the weather is cloudy and a little bit colder. Bring along a light jacket.

Galapagos: wear comfortable walking shoes and casual clothing. Shorts, t-shirts and summer clothing will be just fine. Don’t forget a hat, a camera, sun block, and a bathing suit. During the months of June to November the weather is cloudy and a bit colder. Bring along a light jacket.

Amazon or Jungle: wear clothing adequate for a rain. If you can get yourself a raincoat (poncho), take it with you, as well as several sets of light pants and long sleeve shirts. Shorts are less useful because of the insects and abundant vegetation you will walk through on your excursions. A hat, rubber boots and insect repellents are also a must. If you plan to take pictures, you will need high-speed film.


AIRPORT TAX: There is a $25 tax fee for anyone leaving the country from Quito or Guayaquil.

Tourist Visa: Visitors can stay up to 90 days without a tourist visa.

Taxi rates: approximately 3 to 4 dollars per ride from the airport to the city. These rates vary among the main cities.

Transportation:
Main cities (Guayaquil, Quito and Cuenca) have local airports serviced by the local airlines Tame, Aerogal and Icaro, besides international airlines. Bus lines offer Land transportation where you can just jump on the next bus leaving to your destination. Each city has its own terminal, with frequent departure to each one of the different provinces of our country.

INDEAN MARKETS










OTAVALO

Full Day
Every Days, preferly on Saturday
Its original name is "Tzarantze" = working town; Otavalo = blanket of all,
Is a city of Quichua indigenous people who feels proud of their origins and being the last Incas. One of the most  important indigenous fairs in Latin America where specially on Saturdays, all the products that are brought from other places near and distant to Otavalo like Salasaca textiles or purses of Intag etc are sold...

Tour: Depart from Quito with direction towards Guayllabamba and we will make a brief technical stop in Huachalá and its monument to Middle of the World, in Cayambe we will taste the Bizcochos and the typical Cheese “Queso de Hoja”. We continue to the Viewpoint of the Lake San Pablo.
We will arrive at the indigenous market of Otavalo and take 2Hours to visit it.
After Otavalo we'll visit Peguche and its sacred cascade.

PUJILÍ

It is a small town near Latacunga.
Pujilí is a town of very strong traditions example of this is his food, like their textiles and their celebrations specially the Corpus Cristi or Inti Raymi where the Indians make offerings to the sun by the harvests.
There is some local ceramic and a good market on Sunday and Wednesday

Tour: Depart from Quito towards the valley of the Chillos and next towards the Pan-American South admiring the different located volcanoes from both borders, we crossed Latacunga and soon we arrived at Pujilí. Here we visit the zonal market and factories of ceramics in the Victoria town.

MOUNTANERING

CAYAMBE


Time: 2D/1N
Snow-covered volcano of 19107 feet of height, located in the Eastern Ecuadorian Andean range. Is the only volcano with glaciers on the equinoctial line.

Day 01: Depart from Quito in the north direction of the town of Cayambe crossing through Guayllabamba and Huachalá, after approximately 1 ½ hours to arrive at San Juan where we will begin the ascent until the refuge Jose Oleas where we will leave the equipment. After lunch we’ll have practice of ice climbing in Glaciers.

Day 02: Approximately to the we left towards towards the summit after 7 hours of long walk a we arrive to the summit.
Descent and return to Quito.

COTOPAXI


Time: 2Days/1Night

With its 19460 feet of height, the Cotopaxi is a big challenging Snow-covered volcano for all who wants to climb and reach the summit, or, only for trying to climb the highest active volcano in the world.

Day 01: Depart from Quito in South direction towards the town of Machachi and continuously towards the North entrance of the Cotopaxi National Park.
Soon we arrive to the Park area we start our walk to the refuge, 300 mts. higher than this area.
Refuge and after few moments we begin our  ice climbing practice in the glaciers.
Lunch
Day 02: Approximately to the 01:30 A.M. we left towards the summit after 6 hours of long walk and ice climbing we arrived at the summit. Descend to the refuge, to rest and to have breakfast and return to Quito.

CHIMBORAZO

Day 01: Depart from Quito towards the South taking the Pan-American route and crossing Andean valleys. After 4 hours crossing Latacunga, Ambato and Riobamba we arrived at the Chimborazo refuge and we’ll start with a ice climbing practice in the glacier.

Day 02: Approximately to the we left towards the summit after 7 hours of long walk and ice scaling and snow we arrived at the summit. Descend to the refuge, to rest and to return to Quito.

RUCU PICHINCHA



Half Day
Extinguished Volcano of 15269 feet of height near Quito, it forms part of the Great volcanic bulk of the Pichinchas, can be seen from some points of the city and be climb from Cruz Loma or the Antenna Mountain, today facilitated by the cable car in Cruz Loma, we will begin the arduous long walk and the ascent to this volcano.

Tour: Depart at approximately , going through the complex "Cable Car" of Quito admiring the city from the heights like also mountains and volcanoes to the distance. The trip takes 15 minutes after which, we began the passage towards the Rucu Pichincha. We reach the Summit after 4 hours of walking and rock climbing. Descend again to the point to start point

NORTH ILINIZA

The North Iliniza, is a masivness rock  of 16883 feet of height that is next to the South Iliniza and together form the walls of an old volcano, that was the highest in the world.

The North Iliniza climbing is not very harduous technical climbing but always is a challenge trying to reach greater heights to the 16500 feet.

Day 01: Depart from Quito towards the South taking the Pan-American route and crossing Andean valleys towards the Machachi and after 2 hours we arrived at the Chaupi. Ascent to the “Paramo de la Virgen” and long walk of 3 hours towards the refuge where we will rest. Day 02: Approximately to the we left towards the north summit, after 4 hours of long walk and rock climbing we arrived at our final mission. Descend to the refuge and return to Quito.

Day 01: Early depart from Quito towards the South taking the Pan-American route and crossing the valley of the Chillos and Amaguaña and then turning towards the Pasochoa wherre we will take the necessary equipment for a long 5 hours walk to arrive at the summit of 13860 feet of height and in afternoon descending towards the refuge, where we will have rest.

Day 02: Breakfast, short walk in the low trails and return to Quito approximately in the afternoon

QUILOTOA

After 2 1/2 hours of trip we go down to the Quilotoa crater and lagoon. Rise of the camping tent.

RUMIÑAHUI

 "Stone Head" is its name in Quechua. , Rumiñahui Mt. is  facing the Cotopaxi and surrounded by several attractiveness: Limpiopungo, Ilinizas, among others. With its three summits, is a rocky mountain that does not demand much physical effort although a little this in the North summit

 Tour: Early depart from Quito () towards the south through the Avenue of the Volcanoes until the Cotopaxi National Park.
From Limpiopungo we’ll start our long walk, we will arrive at the rocky walls and its summit after 3 hours from long walk, soon to descend admiring the majestic Cotopaxi
